Weaponization of Social Media with Dr. Peter Singer

The emergence of social media in recent years has profoundly improved communication and information-sharing around the world. However, social media has also become a powerful tool in conflicts and warfare. Today, the same platforms used to organize protests are used by terrorist groups and belligerent nations to spur attacks and sway elections. In this episode, we will discuss the tactics used to weaponize social media as well as what can be done to protect against these risks while balancing internet freedom.

Joining us today to discuss the weaponization of social media is Dr. Peter Singer. Dr. Singer is a strategist at New America, a professor of practice at Arizona State University, and a principal at Useful Fiction LLC. He has written many books, such as LikeWar: The Weaponization of Social Media, which is discussed in the podcast, as well as, Ghost Fleet, Burn-In, and Corporate Warriors.
