However, social media has also become a powerful tool in conflicts and warfare. Today, the same platforms used to organize protests are used by terrorist groups and belligerent nations to spur attacks and sway elections. Dr. Singer is a strategist at New America, a professor of practice at Arizona State University, and a principal at Useful Fiction LLC. He has written many books, such as LikeWar: The Weaponization of Social Media, which is discussed in the podcast, as well as, Ghost Fleet, Burn-In, and Corporate Warriors.
